Matthew is a storyteller, husband, dad, geek, technology enthusiast, and Disney aficionado. Matthew believes that everyone should have a sacred place where they can be who they are. As a church planter, he knows it takes intentional work to include those who have been excluded—especially by the Church. A native of Texas, his favorite foods include chili con queso and Dr Pepper. Matthew holds a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary with a special focus on Worship, Theology, and the Arts as well as a Bachelor of Science in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his husband, Chris, live in Rancho with their three-year-old son. They are doggo parents to Elsie the Goldendoodle. Matthew is an avid watcher of television whose current favorites include The Crown, This Is Us, The Flash, Supergirl, Superman & Lois, The Great British Bake Off, and Star Trek: Discovery.
Alison believes that God loves you no matter who you are. As our Communications Coordinator, she makes sure our inclusive welcome is visible on social media and known in our community. She loves watching the Food Network and baking—she makes the best cookies! When not working, she can be found with her husband, Blake and daughter, Lilly going on adventures. Otherwise, you will likely find her at Target!
Patti, aka “Nana”, loves her “Sacred Kids”, each of which is unique and special. She enjoys teaching them to love God through play, crafts, dance, song and caring. She strongly believes in the work of Sacred Place to follow in Jesus’ footsteps to welcome all without exclusion. She feels blessed to be retired and have the loving support of her family, four of which are her lovely grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her fur babies, going to musical plays and movies, singing, taking long walks, and laughing.
Our leaders are elected by the members of Sacred Place at the start of each calendar year at our Annual Meeting. They have the responsibility of keeping the mission of Sacred Place at the forefront while handling fiduciary responsibilities.
